Natural Everyday Look

Hey All!!
Happy International Women's Day to all you lovely ladies!
It has not been alot of fun for me today as I am suffering from a cough and a cold, trying to get better for Mothers Day as I am looking forward to that!

However I did manage to film a tutorial...between my sniffles.. and I hoped to have it up today but in reality it will be tomorrow when I am hopefully feeling a bit better.

In the meantime here is a blog post on my everyday makeup look. I tend to focus mostly on my skin day to day. If your skin looks radiant and healthy you instantly look polished. Taking those extra couple of minutes in the morning to conceal and brighten your skin is definitely worthwhile and your confidence will shine through!

Makeup Catchup!

Hey Everyone!! I have not blogged in ages! But alas, I am back. Apart from it being one of my New Years resolutions to blog more, I really miss it!! When I had 'regular' working hours in my boutique it was so much easier to blog as I could write something up when I had a quiet spell. Since I now work from home, growing and managing my makeup line and being a wife and mother it is ALOT harder to find the time to take FOTD and OOTD pictures... plus I am mainly in jeans and jumpers doing the school run/managing website from home/playing with my daughter/running errands...not so glamorous anymore! Ha! But, that is another one of my resolutions, to get back to 'old Sarah' and make more of an effort to get my glam back. Here is a round up of my more less disheveled looks over the last few months. All products available to buy at www.sarahgcosmetics.com where the SALE is now on!! Promise there is more detailed beauty blogs to come showcasing my amazing products. I am so excited for my SS13 line...its gonna be goooood!! Mwa! Sarah

Luxe Lips

A major trend seen on many catwalks for Autumn/Winter and many an A-lister, is the deep plum lip. Think the most gogeous, deep, delicious red, like the decadent shade of  red wine. Okay so it might be a little scary, maybe even goth like...but here we are channeling the glam side of goth.
The key trick is to keep the rest of the face simple but polished. Think luminous skin, neutral eyes and prettily flushed cheeks (this last point is key, refer to previous goth mention) This is the perfect party look. Its edgy yet pretty. To really amp it up for evening,I like to apply a thick gloss to the middle of the lip in a lighter shade of blood red....it makes lips look divine!

Of course this shade is Luxe for a reason,a deep decadent shade like this needs a lipstick to match. Hydration is important with shades like these,so the lipstick you choose should be moisturising that packs a punch with colour...this one of these all or nothing type looks. So,treat yourself to a really good lipstick.
My top tips for applying statement colours like these are as follows:
1.Make sure lips are soft and flake free. To really make the most of colour dab a small amount of concealer over your lips.
2.Apply the lipstick with a brush, really working the product into your lips, firstly leave the outline soft.Use the lip brush to outline the lip. The drama of the lipstick shade should be enough, so make for a softly lined rosebud lip, emphasising a strong lip line with lip liner may look a tad harsh.
3. Blot! You dont want to overload lips with product and cause bleeding around the edges.
4.Apply another layer of lipstick.
5.Finish with a coat of thick gloss, focusing on the center of your lip.

And Voila!! Gorgeous luxurious, show stopping lips!

Here are some of my favourite shades for achieving this look.
Mac lipstick in Hang Up.
Jemma Kidd lipstick in Cleopatra.
Rouge Pur lipstick by YSL in Sweet Dark Purple.
SarahG Cosmetics lipstick in Merlot

Here is my take on the trend. Wearing SarahG,Merlot Lipstick and RED lipgloss. (http://www.sarahgcosmetics.com/)

3 Step No Make Up Make Up!

Hi darlings!
Hope you are all well, firstly I would like to say thankyou to the beautiful Anna Saccone who did a gorgeous make up tutorial on SarahG cosmetics, watch it here. I have to say she did SarahG cosmetics proud and I am so glad she liked everything and the products look amazing on her.
So I have been really tired the last couple of days (woman trouble) and I havent been really feeling like getting glammed up lately. So today I decided that I just wanted a quick pick me up and something that would brighten up my skin. And believe it or not...I just used 3 products, yep 3!! Sarah G Cosmetics is that good! (cheeky wink...)

Here is what I used

Moisturising foundation in Honey.
Lipstick in Honolulu pink
Super lash mascara in black.

By using these 3 cosmetics alone here was the finished look.

1.Using a foundation brush I apllied my moisturising foundation with light strokes, really blending into the skin and paying special attention to the areas around the eyes and nose.

2.Then I used the bullet of the lipstick to apply it to the back of my hand and using a camouflage brush blended it to the apples of my cheeks working upwards towards my hairline. I dabbed the remainder of the product onto my lips

3. I finished with a coat of my (amazing) mascara and brushed out my brows.

And Voila!!

A 5 minute,3 step make up look. Perfect for a pick me up anytime or for when you want a 'no make up day' but cant quite face going totally bare faced. Of course you can add to this look also. Concealer is a must to give added coverage when required. Also if a totally naked eye doesn't feel right a natural shade will work best. The key to this 'no make up' look is neutral shades that arent to showy on the skin. Basically, the products that you use should enhance your natural beauty! Key word being natural for this look. Thats why a moisturising foundation works well as it blends seamlessly while giving your skin a dewy glow. A soft pink lipstick in the same shade used on both lips and cheeks gives a soft hint of colour.

There you have it! Hope you like this look. Will you try it?

Love,

Sarah.
