The Makeup Trend That Made The Internet Go Crazy

The Makeup Trend That Made The Internet Go Crazy…

Strobing, highlighting, contouring, Kylie Jenner’s lips, we have seen all of these huge makeup trends appear in our news feeds constantly of late, but wait, there is a new buzz about makeup town and it’s the best!
RAINBOW HIGHLIGHTER!

After one Reddit user posted a picture of a wonderful rainbow-esque highlighter palette the internet went crazy. The quest began to track down this magical product and alas, it was found on Etsy made by an independent cosmetic manufacturer called Bitter Lace Beauty. The product named ‘prism’ sold out instantly but not to worry as it is getting restocked very soon, which is just as well as this is a festival season must have and who doesn’t want a rainbow on their face?

BRITS FASHION LOWDOWN

The 2016 Brit Awards took place last night with the who’s who of the music industry out in force to show us what they got. Little Mix weren’t the only ones who took part in the pick n’ mix of fashion. From full on glamour to questionable hats there was definitely a jumble of style on the red carpet.
Here are the styles that really stood out for me…
LITTLE MIX
_littlemix_2707796a
Trousers, skirts, dresses, jackets, lingerie. It was a mixed up look for the girls, the only thing that pulled this together was the colour palette but it was too mish mashed for me…

ADELE
adele
I am a HUGE Adele fan and in my eyes she really can do no wrong, however this girls body is amazing! You could see underneath all those flounces and ruffles hides a bangin Jessica-Rabbit-esque body. Her hair and make up though were simply flawless!

CHERYL
PBI: The BRIT Awards 2016
Lets face it, she could wear a tracksuit on the red carpet and still look absolutely amazing. I got a varied response from my social media platforms with this one, half of you said she looked amazing (which she does) but half also said nay to the dress. I’m sure this dress could look amazing but somehow I think the styling lets it down, the metallic silver sandal looks garish against the pale yellow and the hair and make up just don’t fit with the overall look. In fact speaking of the hair, combined with her shade of choice she almost looks like a modern day Belle from Beauty&The Beast.
CHERYL

All this aside though she was simply glowing and looked really happy despite her recent marriage split.

Oh dear, and this is just of course my opinion but this look really wasn’t work work work work working for me. The length, the fit everything just didn’t scream FIERCE which Fenty herself is usually the queen of. Dare I say it reminded me of a lovely lady going to dinner on a cruise ship??
Hair and make up though? She werk werk werk werk werked it! (Ok I’ll stop..)
rihanna3
kylie
Why the hat Kylie? Why? This dress was so perfect for her, lets face it, she’s like a little doll brought to life so this pretty prom party dress was a perfect choice but its like she put it on and her stylist went “how can we make this totally gorgeous little party dress ‘edgy’ ? I know lets add a hat and some green satin shoes!” Kudos to Kylie for still looking super cute though.

Valentines Weekend

Hi lovelies!!

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentines weekend whether you are in a relationship or not I hope you spent it with people you love!

I enjoyed my weekend and had the best of both worlds by enjoying an adult only date night on the Saturday and then a lovely family meal on the Sunday!

On the Saturday night I upped the glam factor for date night with my hubby, he actually bought me this dress for my birthday in December but I didn't really have anything to wear it for so I pulled it out for valentines! It's a simple black asymmetric hem dress from River Island, I really liked the scuba like material as it real pulled me in, I still feel a bit self conscious about the winter weight I've put on so this was a good things, I kept it simple pairing it with YSL gold drop earrings and black stilettos from Italy, I added some fun with this vintage fur crop jacket though!

I really went all out with hair and makeup using my SGC gold glitter and a full curly hair piece.

The Sunday was a lovely day, the three of us went for a gorgeous meal and it was nice to be all together for Valentine's Day, Summer is at the age where she wants to be involved in everything so she was sure she was getting a Valentine's dinner! She got spoilt with balloons, flowers, cards and chocolates! I got a lovely bracelet, flowers, chocolates a bottle of prosecco and a trip away at the end of the month so I didn't do too bad either!

I wore this little skater dress I got from H&M for Christmas, I paired it with over the knee boots from Primark as it was freezing!

Of course you gotta have red lips on Valentine's one so I wore this vibrant red from Decembers Glossybox by Revlon.

Loving my cute bow bracelet from my hubby!

Hope you all are good, the nights are getting lighter so hopefully spring isn't too far away!

Lots of love,

Sarah.

GANT FRAGRANCE REVIEW

I was lucky enough to receive the gorgeous new fragrance from GANT this week, whilst it is technically a men's fragrance, I really loved the fresh citrussy scent and would happily wear it myself although my hubby has already become obsessed with it! The inspiration behind this fragrance is the salty sea intertwined with sharp bursts of lemon and coriander, making it a crisp revitalising scent.

The man behind the fragrance, Pierre Wulff, is one of the worlds most passionate exports on natural scents.

This gorgeous scent is perfect for the upcoming Summer months evoking a sense of adventure and uplifting spirits like a day in the sun. Speaking of which as the tag line on the bottle says "Just add your own spirit", GANT have created the essence of the good life with this fragrance, enjoy!

New Beauty Must Haves!!

Hey lovelies!!

Can you believe we are in Febuary already?? I am praying that the weather will get better as the months go by as I am seriously over the miserable Scottish winter we have been having! I thought I'd share with you my beauty faves that I have discovered, I've been trying them out and I know I will get a lot of wear out of them for spring!

Loreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint Foundation
I seriously cannot believe the bargain I got with this!! This product has rave reviews on the Boots website and is priced on there at £9.99, and it must be good as it's actually sold out on their website. Well let me tell you I picked this up in B&M Bargains for £1!! And the best thing? After trying it for myself it's truly AMAZING!!!

I used a large buffing brush to buff it into my skin leaving an airbrushed, dewy finish!!

MUA & KIKO

Some other new treats I have been loving are the Makeup Academy Liquid Illuminator in Oyster and this amazing KIKO mascara I received in January's Glossybox!
The Illuminator really lifts and enhances your complexion leaving a gorgeous dewy glow whilst the mascara is like false  lashes in a tube! It's one of the best I've tried in a while, seriously.

SGC CONTOUR PALETTE
And lastly I have to give one of my own products a mention! My fab Colour Correcting Concealer Palette, I was really unwell with a cold last week and whilst sick of feeling bleugh I decided to touch up my full tired skin a wee bit, this palette really has everything you need to achieve flawless skin and it instantly made me feel better!
I used the green to cover my red nose and cheeks, the salmon pink to banish my dark circles and the highlighter and concealed to add dimension and luminosity for a flawless finish, it's a fab product and a fab price at £10!
Head to www.sarahgcosmetics.com to get your hands on one!!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner so I will be showing you how to achieve some pretty date looks, stay tuned!

Lots of Love,

Sarah

New Hair and Aurora Band Review

Hi guys!!

Hope your good!! On Friday I got my hair done and decided to go for a new look by getting highlights to lift my colour and warm up my skin tone a bit. I went to Platinum Hair in Wishaw and got a full head of foils put in by the lovely Tor, I was really happy with the result, I am loving the "Bronde" hair trend just now, a flattering in between shade of blonde and brown. I think as someone who has always been dark, this is a fitting comprimise, I could never see myself being a bright blonde.

Here is a before and after taken on the day,
                       BEFORE
                          AFTER

On Friday I also received an Aurora Nighttime Band. I was very excited to receive this as I had seen lots of positive reviews on social media and I love my hair to have body, what's more you pop it in before you go to bed and when you wake up your good to go! Well, I can spend hours on my makeup but I'm pretty lazy when it comes to my hair so I thought I need this product in my life! Umm so I thought.... I have to say I wasn't too impressed. I followed the instructions exactly as they were given in the box but I was left (and so was my hair) a little flat. Now I will say, it said to apply on slightly damp hair which mine wasn't so maybe that's the issue?? I did however apply hairspray to each section before I wound it around the band but it just provided a slight flick more than any actual bounce, I will reserve full judgement until I try it again with damp hair.

12.99 from EBay.

Lots of Love,

Sarah.

Realistic Resolutions

Go on a major diet, workout five times a week, take up a new hobby, learn Chinese? New years resolutions, we have all made them, during that period where the guilt of festive over indulgence sets in it seems to make us feel good to convince ourselves we will be a better version of us in the New Year. But in the long run are we really making us feel good about ourselves? Setting far fetched targets and goals that when not met make us feel under achieved, demotivated and just all round, well, blah... How about this year we be a little kinder? How about we set resolutions that are achievable and in the long term will actually benefit our lifestyle. Small changes to our upcoming 2016 daily routines that encourage a healthy body and mind, that is surely the way forward.

new year

Healthy Eating
Woman eating fresh fruit
Woman eating fresh fruit
Telling yourself you will forever give up diet coke and master the perfect kale recipe sounds great, but yeah, good luck with that. How about you ease your self in by vowing to drink fizzy drinks only as a treat or as an alcohol alternative because of course, your now tee total. This way if you do decide to abstain from alcohol at least when you have a soft drink it will feel a little more special if you have been sticking mainly to water on a daily basis. As for eating healthily, by all means do it, but again, begin in a kinder, gentler way. Firstly, make subtle changes, change from white bread to brown/granary, use low-cal spray oil instead of your usual cooking oil and make the grill and the juicer your best friend. Most of all, enjoy it, if you enjoy the food you eat you will be satisfied and therefore more likely to enjoy healthy eating.
Positive Thinking
kind
We all know that positive thinking is key to a positive life, but with daily stresses and strains it can be difficult to maintain a sunny outlook all the time. By taking small steps in training your mind to think a different way you can achieve a balance that will result in you being kinder to yourself and therefore more content. So,its a couple of weeks in, your resolve has faltered and you have had one too many glasses of wine and a huge Chinese to make yourself feel better. But now, in the cold light of New Year, you do not feel better any more. So, like many of us are guilty of, you beat your self up and criticise your will power. This is certainly not going to make you feel better, in fact you will end up feeling worse and then may chuck in the towel altogether on any positive plans you had put in place for your New Year. A word that has been mentioned a few times now, kindness, be kinder to yourself. Train your mind into going easier on you. Instead of thinking, 'I'm a failure', think, 'OK,I slipped up, I will pick myself up and try again and everything will be good.' If you continue to think this way about you and others you will feel great and it will impact your daily life in a positive way.
De-clutter
Order-Chaos
Have a clear out, in all aspects of your life. De clutter your mind by ridding yourself of things that have been taking up space in your life. Energy vampires, who needs them? Whether you have that friend on Facebook who continually saps your energy with negativity or the one who questions your confidence with showy posts, clear them out. Instead replace them with a feed that you will enjoy, healthy tasty recipes, positive quotes or just hilarious videos of animals chasing their tails. Do what feels good for you. De clutter your home so you can have a peaceful environment where you feel happy and relaxed. Again, take it at your own pace, choose to clear out one room at a time, set an alarm on your phone for what you can manage, a half an hour, forty five minutes, and be happy with what you achieve in this time scale. De clutter your body by being a little more mindful of what goes into it, download your favourite music and go on a long walk, yes your exercising, which your body will thank you for but this can also be extremely cathartic. By applying these simple de cluttering techniques to your life, you will soon be in a great place in your body and mind.
happy
Most of all, make your year one full of happy memories. Spend time with those you love, travel, eat good food, meet new people, read that book everyone is raving about, take long walks, enjoy bubble baths, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
